Job Vacancy: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Support Assistants - Primary School

Location: Moss Side, Manchester

We are seeking two passionate and dedicated SEND Support Assistants to join our vibrant and inclusive primary school community in Moss Side, Manchester. These roles offer a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Position 1: SEND Support Assistant for Reception

Position 2: SEND Support Assistant for Year 5

Role Overview: As a SEND Support Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other professionals to support children with additional needs. Your role will involve providing tailored assistance and implementing strategies to facilitate the academic, social, and emotional development of the children.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering targeted support to children with SEND in either Reception or Year 5.
  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
  • Supporting children in their learning, providing encouragement, and fostering independence.
  • Collaborating with teachers and external specialists to ensure the provision of personalised support.
  • Maintaining accurate records and progress reports on the development of the children.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEND would be advantageous.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children's lives.
