Are you a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge in a Secondary Alternative Provision in Preston?

Tradewind are currently looking for a hardworking, ambitious experienced behaviour specialist teaching assistant to join and thriving a Secondary Alternative Provision in Preston starting September till July 2020 supporting a child in year 11, this role is currently full time 5 days a week.

As a secondary teaching assistant your job will be to support a year 11 pupil. You will be working closely with the teacher and doing 1-2-1, work with the pupil to enhance their learning and academic development. Experience is not essential however, a patient and determined character is needed. You will be supporting a pupil with EHC Plans and Social and Emotional Behaviour Difficulties.

The Secondary Alternative Provision is looking for someone who has ideally, but not essentially, have a level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning as well as recent and relevant experience in a similar role. You must also have a passion for working with Secondary aged pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. As per Department for Education (DfE) guidelines you will need to be able to provide full identification copies and reference details from the relevant experience you have previously gained in this or a similar setting.

The Secondary Alternative Unit is based in Preston easy accessible with public transport and additionally if you are driving it has free car parking.

Essential requirements:
*Level 2/3 NVQ or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning
*Have excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
*Be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour
*Excellent interpersonal skills based on effective communication
*Passion to ensure every pupil succeeds and reaches their full potential
*Experience with working on a 1-2-1 and group basis
*An awareness of their own strengths and areas for development and a willingness to listen to, reflect constructively and ac upon, as appropriate, feedback from others
*Be able to confidently work as part of the team and independently
