Calling all Behaviour Mentor/Teaching Assistants seeking work in the Nottingham area for September 2021 (or possibly earlier).
Tradewind Recruitment Nottingham have the opportunity to recruit for Behaviour Mentor/Teaching Assistants within the Nottingham area. The role is full time on a temporary to permanent basis.
The role is working 121 and in small groups with pupils with particularly challenging behaviour and SEMH difficulties in mainstream secondary schools. The mentor will follow a bespoke timetable and will build positive relationships with the pupil to promote interaction and a constructive learning environment as well as assist the class teacher and other education staff with learning activities.
The successful candidate will be confident delivering a core curriculum and be a positive and engaging role model for the pupil. They will have a thorough knowledge of SEND and a holistic/therapeutic approach to education.
Specialist behaviour mentors will work closely with SLT to form behaviour policies post COVID-19 and will look at safe approaches to behaviour deescalation techniques.
There are many progression pathways at this school and the SLT want to invest in all the staff's long term future and professional growth.
The school is based in Nottingham City with excellent transport links to the rest of the city and county.
The ideal candidate will be:
* Experienced supporting school pupils or young people
* Knowledgeable about supporting vulnerable pupils with SEBD and SEMH
* Available from September with a DBS on the update service
* Able to commit long term to the school and pupils for continuity
* Possibly Team Teach/MAPA trained
* Counselling/Psychology background a bonus
