An opportunity to join our highly motivated and skilled team as a Teaching Assistant with Vision Impairment / Braille experience has become available. This Special Educational Needs School based in the borough of Wandsworth is a leading provider of education for visually-impaired children and young people aged 2 - 19 years. They have an impressive three-acre campus in Wimbledon offering fabulous indoor and outdoor innovative facilities to support teaching and learning.

The Vision Impairment Teaching Assistant role is due to begin in April 2021 and will continue until July 2022. The school is happy to accommodate full-time or part-time candidates and is paying and annual salary of 17,500 - 20,650.

This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about transforming young peoples' lives, promoting independence and has a desire to develop their career in a Special School setting. You'll be working within an experienced team of colleagues committed to providing high quality support and education to the children and young people across the school.

This Teaching Assistant position you will be working with students in both primary and secondary with Vision Impairment to enable them to access the curriculum.

To be shortlisted for this position you will need to have proven track experience working with students and young adults diagnosed with Vision Impairment and well as Braille. You will be someone who deeply cares about the needs of the students and have prior knowledge of the National Curriculum and be able to progress students academically.
