Are you a carer with experience of supporting service users with physical disabilities/learning difficulties/Autism/Challenging behaviour and now looking to work or gain experience within Special needs school settings in Bath?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for care experienced candidates to support students in our school settings as Teaching assistants. This type of roles can be part or full-time or on a supply basis depending on your circumstance and availability in addition or in place of your care job. Our schools require candidates with experience and understanding of supporting physical disabilities. The ideal candidate for these roles would be someone who has the skills to aid pupils in their emotional and academic development through encouragement, positive reinforcement, and by creating a safe learning environment as well as aiding their physical and personal care needs. This can be an opportunity for the right candidates have the potential of continuing next academic Year.

Afore mentioned school is within easy reach of public transport from all parts of Bath. We have schools across Bath as well as the surrounding areas such as Keynsham and Warmley and Mis Somer Norton. You will also have option to work within Mainstream.

  • A strong understanding of special needs/physical disabilities
  • Familiarity with personal care procedures and ability to use hoist and manual handling

  • Ability to support the student both academically and emotionally in a calm manner, always adhere to safeguarding and behavioural policies, and show adherence to professional boundaries. (Manual handling training is highly desirable)

  • A collaborative and driven individual who will be able to take directions from the SENCO and other Education professionals within the class

  • Working hours are between 0830-1530 during term-time and Monday to Friday.

  • You can choose when and where you work and how often.

  • Minimum £65 GBP per day (6.5 Hours)

Location: Bath and surrounding areas.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

 Have experience of working with young people or young adults with physical disabilities.

Be comfortable providing personal care.

Manual handling training is ideal but not necessary for the right experienced.

 This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

 Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained

 You must have the legal right to work in the UK
