Sports Specialist Cover Supervisor
Are you highly motivated and a driven Cover Supervisor with a passion for sport?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a dedicated Sports Specialist Cover Supervisor to join a "Good" Alternative Provision School within Blackburn starting as soon as possible - July 2021.
This is a full time, long term role. Helping to deliver and support PE and Outdoor Education throughout the Alternative Provision School, coaching and delivery experience is required as well as Covering Supervisor work and Teaching Assistant Work.
As a Sports Specialist Cover Supervisor your job will be supporting and delivering and supporting sport across KS2 to KS4 by working with small groups of pupils to enhance their learning and academic development. Additionally, when you're not involved within PE you could be asked to cover any subject lessons with work provided by their permanent class teacher.
Your role will involve supporting and teaching pupils within this "Good" Alternative Provision School experience is essential and a patient and determined character is needed.
The ideal candidate will have experience both within delivering and supporting within PE ideally qualified to Level 3. Team Teach training is desirable not essential as training can be provided.
We are looking for:
- Experience delivering and supporting within PE and ideally qualified to Level 3.
- Passion for working with Secondary aged pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
- Teaching Assistant Level or Degree Qualified
- Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
- Experience with supporting challenging behaviour
- Be able to confidently work as part of the team and independently
Essentials:
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK
As per Department for Education (DfE) guidelines you will need to be able to provide full identification copies and reference details from the relevant experience you have previously gained in this or a similar setting.
The School is based in Blackburn with close motorway links to the M65, with a large free car park. Additionally, if traveling on public transport there is a bus stop 10-minute walk from the school.
