Tradewind Recruitment specialise in recruiting teachers, cover supervisors and support staff to work in schools across the UK. We have been asked by an oversubscribed 11 to 18 secondary school to assist them in finding a Cover Supervisor to join their hard-working team of staff on a permanent basis. You would be expected to work term time only and 32.5 hours a week.
This Ofsted rated 'Good' school has consistently performed well over the years. Pupils behaviour is described as exemplary and leadership has maintained a great quality of education. As a result, there is a harmonious learning environment throughout the school. Staff, students and parents are bought into the school ethos and high expectations and there is the correct understanding of the school's strengths and areas of improvement.
The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for:
Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy.
Managing the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment.
Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures.
Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures.
Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.
Will willing take on additional duties if/when required.
In order to be considered for this fantastic opportunity Tradewind requires the following:
Ideally hold a minimum of a degree or equivalent.
Be flexible, enthusiastic and motivated to follow the absent teacher's lesson plans and deliver the lessons to a high standard.
Be able to manage behaviour effectively in the classroom.
Adhere to each schools' individual behaviour policies.
Be happy to provide brief handover notes at the end of each lesson to pass back over to the school.
Ideally have a minimum of 6 weeks relevant experience working in a school environment.
