Tradewind Hull are working with a truly exceptional school in the East Riding of Yorkshire (Pocklington), who are in need of a full time cover supervisor from September 2021 to October half term 2021 (at least). This will be to provide additional cover to the school as they return from the summer break. This is a school that frequently uses ad-hoc cover, and the plan is for the successful candidate to then become the first port of call for cover throughout the academic year. Any candidate who is available before September should get in touch, as there is ad-hoc cover work available at the school as soon as possible. Payment for this position will be between £65.00 and £75.00 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

This is a truly excellent school that has an excellent and close knit cover team, who will instantly make you feel like part of the department, and will welcome you wholeheartedly. Behaviour at the school is good, with excellent behaviour management strategies in place for staff to follow. There is ample onsite parking for candidates who drive to work. From Hull, this school is best accessed via car.

Key Duties

  • Cover classes that need additional support
  • Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school
  • Undertaking observations of the pupils and contribute to pupil records
  • Administering (and marking) class tests
  • Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities

Assisting the class teacher as a teaching assistant if there are no lessons that require covering

  • Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy.

Essential requirements:
Experience working with students aged 11-18

All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
