Tradewind is recruiting! We are pleased to announce that we are looking for a Project Manager / Curriculum Lead for an Alternative Education setting in South Gloucestershire. The role of Curriculum and Learning Lead is to manage a specific school site of students with complex needs at KS3 and 4, ensuring that the education provision is of a high quality and that students are motivated and challenged.

We are looking to appoint an interim Lead for their relatively new site. The project ensures that local young people are included in mainstream education, training or employment so they can participate as full members of their communities. The learners are aged 14 to 16-years-old. The team also provides an outreach programme for the students who are disengaged or on alternative timetables. This role will continue for all the Academic Year and will potentially become permanent beyond next year.

Hours of work vary between 0830-1630 everyday Monday to Friday term-time. There is generous pay offer for the right candidate.

Duties:

-Subject delivery: As a Curriculum and Learning Lead, you will have delivery experience across a range of subjects and lead on the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning.
-Staff and Behaviour management: You will effectively manage a staff team, work within a set budget and maximise resources, as well as monitoring the effective use of premises. You will have a thorough understanding of behaviour management and possess the skills and attributes to implement strategies, lead the team and utilise de-escalation tactics.

Previous experience is working within an Alternative Education provision, or PRU setting is highly beneficial. Previously working as a SENCO and leading a team of teachers within a SEN school are also highly desirable.

This role might be ideal for you if:

-You have previous SEMH experience.
-You have previously worked with disengaged young people.
-You have experience and understanding of child development and learning
-You are available full-time.
-You worked in a senior/leading role either running a similar type project or PRU.


In return, you will have the advantage of working for an established AP with lots opportunities for growth and training in SEN as well as possibility of a contract position.
You will gain great amount of knowledge about working in a special education provision school and will be substantial support on additional needs such as Autism, Aspergers and BESD.

To join us and be successful in these teaching assistant positions you will need to:

* Have QTS or QTLS. (Not necessarily if other relevant experience is in place)
Team-teach training is ideal. Previous leadership or senior position in an AP is highly sought after.
Previous experience of teaching students with behavioural issues.
* This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
* Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
* You must have the legal right to work in the UK
