We are working with an impressive upper school in the Buckinghamshire area who are looking for a Design Technology teacher to start with immediate effect for the remainder of the academic year. If no appointment is made then this role could commence from September 2019.

The school has a clear vision and has been on a journey of improvement stretching back over 6 years. Ofsted rated the school as "Good" again in 2017 with the majority of lessons being rated Good / Outstanding. Examination results are higher than both the national and local average throughout the key stages. Leadership within the school is collaborative and retention of staff is high, the post has arisen due to a resignation and is currently being covered with a non-specialist teacher.

You will need to be a dedicated and capable teacher, able to walk into a new role, set of students and department. The role is to cover the Resistant Materials/Product Design/ Engineering / Woodwork side of technology. Occasional support for Food technology is preferred but not essential.

The school is located just inside the Buckinghamshire boarder commutable from Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Amersham. Local Hertfordshire towns include Tring, Berkhamstead and Hemel. With parking onsite this is a post best suited to someone with access to a car/lift into school due to its rural location however the school is only a short walk from the local station and buses do run from neighbouring towns.

The schools vision was established in 2013 with the help of governors, parents, students and staff to map out a detailed 5-year plan. The focus of this strategy was to ensure pupils own potentials were met, preparing them for higher education and ambitious careers.

The school are looking to appoint a committed and driven teacher with good attendance and a positive outlook on teaching. Experience of teaching DT is essential as the pupils head into their exams. Health and safety certification is an advantage but not essential as the current department's technician has been fully trained.
