Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a DT Technician to join the Art and Design faculty of a Secondary School in Newham. This role is to start in September 2020.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Outstanding support to DT Teaching staff and students.
The Successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Monitoring and servicing of all machinery in the workshops (pillar drills, band saws, band facer, circular saw, disc sander, vacuum former, laser cutter, line bender, convection oven, wood turning machine etc )
2. Carryout out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
3. Diagnose breakdown problems and fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
4. To cut/ prepare materials i.e. Wood ,plastic, metal for DT lessons, as requested by each member of department.
5. Providing in class technical support to both teaching staff and students.
This secondary school is located in Newham with excellent access to Underground and bus network.
