Individuals from Sports backgrounds get on really well in alternative provisions where a positive working relationship is key.

On behalf of a school in the Hull area Tradewind Recruitment are in the market for sporty individuals that have an interest in working in schools with disengaged students. You would be joining a team of highly skilled and passionate practitioners to best provide support to learners with additional needs and SEMH. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students and ensure that they achieve their academic potential and help build character and confidence.

The School aim to be an inspirational Centre of Excellence to support even the most vulnerable and challenging pupils to re-engage with learning. Whilst developing the skills and mental attitude to life and education that will enable them to fulfil their potential. Providing an alternative to mainstream education the atmosphere is different and runs at a much more individualised pace.

The role of the sports Teaching Assistant will be to actively encourage young people to develop high levels of social interaction and independence, including participation in trips and visits, whilst preparing them for the next stage in their education or life. Therefore the ideal candidate will have:
*a background of working groups of children to engage in a given task
*The confidence to set boundaries whilst ensuring students have the freedom to learn
*A background in emotional coaching and confidence building
*The ability to find common ground and develop positive working relationships
*Provide academic support to learners

Whilst experience working within a similar role would be ideal it is not essential due to the varied background of the learners. Working with students with SEMH we appreciate the new perspectives that individuals from outside education bring to settings like this. The staff team has a variety of industry and educational experience and are always on hand to offer support and guidance to new members of staff.

To apply for this role you MUST have;
*experience of working with children aged 10-16
*previous experience of working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds
*10 Year work history where possible and be able to explain any employment breaks

This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
