English Teacher; January 2019; Bromley School.
A position has arisen in an exceptional school for a well-qualified Teacher of English to start ASAP. Applications are welcome from experienced or newly qualified English Teachers. The current English HOD has been at the Secondary School for the past 4 years and has led the Department to success year on year out. She's now looking to appoint both an experienced English Teacher, and a Newly Qualified English Teacher (NQT).
Key Duties & Responsibilities for this Key stage 3 & 4 English teacher role.
To undertake a designated programme of teaching
To plan and prepare courses as schemes of work and lessons
To teach pupils according to their educational needs and to set and mark pupils' work
To assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of pupils and to keep accurate records as required
To ensure that ICT, Literacy, Numeracy, and school's Arts specialism is reflected in the teaching/learning experience of pupils
To ensure a quality learning experience for pupils that meets internal and external standards
To prepare and update subject materials as required
To maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures, and to ensure good punctuality, behaviour, standards of class work and homework
To regularly mark, record and give written/verbal and diagnostic feedback to pupils as required by Assessment for Learning
The ideal candidate for this Key Stage 3 and 4 English Teacher role will:
*be experienced and/or qualified to teach the subject successfully at Key Stage 3 and 4
*be empathetic to the students and contribute to the school's friendly, enthusiastic atmosphere.
*be familiar with the national curriculum and assessment methodology
*A sense of warmth and having a caring outlook.
*Any other skills or subject expertise may be helpful.
Based in the borough of Bromley; close to Overground stations and public transport.
