English teacher

This high-achieving single sex Academy in St Albans are looking for an English teacher to start as soon as possible, teaching English to all Key Stages through to the end of the academic year, with a permanent contract available for the right teacher.

This popular school has an excellent reputation in the local community. In their last Ofsted report (2013), OFSTED last inspected the school in May 2013. They noted how "welcoming, polite, keen to succeed and eager to learn" our students are, and concluded that the school was outstanding in all areas. Strengths.

As an English teacher you will be required to engage and encourage pupils throughout Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in a highly academic, ambitious learning environment.
The school would like to receive applications from

-Teachers with experience of teaching History in the UK (ideally) but they will also consider applicants from overseas
-Capable and motivational teachers able to engage classrooms and meet high expectations for pupil progress and attainment
The school is an 11-18 Comprehensive Academy located near the centre of St Albans. It is a Catholic faith school, having been founded in 1922. The school has 895 pupils on roll: there are five forms of girls in years 7-11, and 180 girls & boys in the Sixth Form.
In 2013, the school received a full inspection by OFSTED and was rated outstanding for the third time in succession. A specific inspection of the school's PSHE provision took place in 2010, and this was also rated as outstanding.

The school is based in St Albans and has onsite parking with easy access to the M1 and M25, as well as convenient public transport links to St Albans, Watford, Hatfield and Hemel Hempstead.
