Tradewind are currently recruiting for an outstanding English teacher to work in one of our fantastic partnership schools in North Lincolnshire. This position is full time (five times a week) but we would be ideally looking for a practitioner that is available full time. This position could potentially be decreased to 3/4 days per week for the ideal candidate. You will be working covering a sickness absence, which is guaranteed to last until February half term, however there is of course the potential for this to increase in the future. The need for future cover, until Easter, is likely, so ideally applicants will be available to work in the future, up until Easter or even until the end of the academic year. Initially, for the first week, while you get used to the school and the timetable, planning will be provided for you and marking will not be expected. During this period, you will be paid between £100.00 and £130.00 per day, for this position. Once you are embedded into the school and are familiar with the timetable, classes and policies, all planning and marking associated with a teaching role are expected for this position. Once you are performing all the duties of a teaching role, you will be paid to scale. In real terms, the successful candidate can expect to earn between £110.00 and £184.00 per day, depending on experience and qualifications. If the successful candidate is looking to work 3 days per week, ideally the successful candidate would have the ability to work on a Monday and a Wednesday, as this is the day with the majority of Key Stage 4 teaching. We would consider applications for teachers who are not English specialists, but have experience teaching Key Stage 3 students.


The School in question is a large academy in the heart of Scunthorpe with an excellent reputation in the local area. Typical working hours at the school are between 8:30 and 3:00PM, but some days the need to work a bit later, until 4:00PM may be required. With it being such a pivotal time of the year, it is vital that the school has a stable, excellent teacher who can provide the students with much needed stability and support, especially for the Key Stage 4 students. We are looking for an excellent behaviour manager, who has the ability to motivate and inspire students who are disengaged. The school has a large onsite carpark for students who drive, but is on a regular bus route for practitioners who rely on public transport.

*Delivering Key Stage 3 and Key Stage English
*Planning in line with the national curriculum
*Marking books and assessments
*Providing intervention periods for students requiring additional support.
