The salary for this role will be £75-80 per day, depending on experience.

About the School:

This is a lovely school in the London borough of Enfield, located close to a national rail station and also with on-road parking. The school has a long-established Headteacher and leadership team and there has been steady improvements over the past few years. Children are from very varied backgrounds, with over 40 languages spoken and many children start school as beginners to English. A high number of pupils join the school below national expectation levels but the great work that the school does with them means that most leave at national average levels or above. There is a lovely atmosphere at the school.

The Role:

The role will involve working with a number of children who are beginners to English and who require additional input. Experience of working with children with English as a second language, ideally in a primary setting is essential. Applicants will be expected to have good levels of spoken and written English, in order to model good practice to pupils and a strong understanding of phonics is desirable as a lot of work will be with pupils in EYFS and KS1. You will be working with the same pupils on a regular basis and you will be required to keep up to date records of progress and feed details back to the class teachers and Sendco. You will be delivering pre-planned activities, as well as creating some of your own, working closely with the class teachers. A positive, patient approach is essential.

This ESL Assistant role will be a lovely opportunity, in a great school, for a suitably experienced candidate.
