A 'Good' CE Burnley Primary School is seeking an experienced EYFS Teacher for a full time Maternity cover from January 2019. There is the potential of an earlier start/handover before the Christmas break.

Tradewind Preston is working in partnership with a 'Good' Burnley Christian Ethos Primary School to recruit an experienced EYFS Teacher. This role is to start no later than January 2019 but has the potential to start in December 2018 for a phased handover.

This is a school with a very supportive and inclusive leadership team that's has maintained a status of 'Good' over its last two OFSTED inspections. The Head Teacher has a clear vision for pupils and wants them to thrive, both academically and on a social level.

Staff share the high expectations and passion for the school, this can be seen through ever lesson that is taught in school. Over the last couple of years there has been some changes in staffing, but this has been well received by all staff and parents. A strong senior leadership team whose members have an accurate understanding of the standards achieved by pupils and what needs to be done to improve these further, has been forged and they work together to succeed.

Pupils are very friendly and are articulate learners who show respect for others. This is a direct result that pupils feel valued and well supported by all staff. Pupils behave well around the school, in lesson and represent the school with great pride when out in the community.

NQTs are encouraged to apply for this role but must has done at least 1 placement within an EYFS setting and have excellent classroom-based references. The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of raising attainment in EYFS, specifically based around 'read, Write, Phonics' and Speech and Language development.

Thorough knowledge of Primary curriculum and excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework core subjects is essential for this role. The school is also seeking an understanding of and commitment to safeguarding children, good communication skills, both written and oral and exceptionally good organisational skills. The ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to participate in the activities of the school is also highly sought after alongside a flexible and good-humoured approach.

This a full time Maternity cover starting from January 2019 for the full year. There is a strong possibility that the role could start from before Christmas, on a part time basis. This class consists of 28 mixed ability pupils, many of children starting school do so with undiagnosed Speech, Language and Communication difficulties.

The successful candidate will be required to actively and wholeheartedly support the Christian ethos of the school. you must accept responsibility for the effective teaching and organisation of a class or groups of children as required by the Headteacher. You will be required to design learning programmes from the policies/schemes of work in use in school, to cater for all abilities. The school seeks the highest standards in behaviour within and outside the classroom, they want someone who can create in the classroom a colourful and stimulating learning environment.

The School is based in Burnley and has free parking on site for drivers and is easily accessible via public transport.
