Tradewind are working with a high-achieving Church of England Academy in East Hertfordshire seeking to appoint a Food Technology teacher to start at Easter or sooner, teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 to the end of the school year, with a permanent contract available for the right teacher.

Our client is a large, academic Church of England school with high aspirations for their motivated, ambitious student body. All students receive personalized academic and pastoral support from an assigned staff mentor, and say that "the school's ethos of valuing individual skills, talents and cultural heritage is at the heart of what makes it unique" (Ofsted 2018). Student behaviour is excellent and all students are encouraged to aim high. The school has a very positive reputation in the local community and strong links to local churches as well as other schools with whom they share best practice.

The school are seeking a Food Technology Teacher who:
*Is supportive of all students and committed to inclusive education
*Has a passion and enthusiasm for students' learning and progress
*Can model very high standards of professionalism at all times and promote the Christian values that underpin the school's ethos
*Believes in the value of individuals and that each child genuinely matters

The successful teacher will have a track record of engaging teaching and high attainment in RE, as well as holding and maintaining high expectations of their students. While this is a Church of England school whose policies are informed by Christian values, teachers of other faiths are very welcome to apply with the understanding that Christian values are a key aspect of daily life within the school community.

Our client is situated in East Hertfordshire, on a modern, attractive site which has been recently renovated and expanded to suit the school's growth to 8 form entry in year 7. Facilities include a full size sports hall and main hall, drama studios, an outdoor amphitheatre, dedicated computer suites, a Learning Resource Centre and Student Centre as well as social spaces for each year group. It is served by industrial standard IT facilities. The school is very close to the M25 with free on-site parking for all staff, and has good public transport links to Cheshunt, Hatfield, Enfield and Waltham Cross.
The school offers a comprehensive induction programme for new staff and a strong network of personal support appropriate to each teacher's individual level of confidence and experience. The SLT are committed to staff career development and offer tailored CPD provision as well as excellent support and mentoring for NQTs. The school's last Ofsted report commented that "Staff are supportive of your vision and they say that they feel valued for their professionalism". There are excellent opportunities to develop and improve practice here for NQTs and experienced teachers alike, in a supportive, forward-thinking department that enjoys strong SLT support.
