INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR AUSTRALIAN TEACHERS

'Outstanding', co-educational academy in Hammersmith and Fulham seek a full-time Geography Teacher to commence a permanent role from January 2019.

The Principal at the Academy has entrusted Tradewind with finding the Academy's next Geography Teacher to join her already highly successful department; the role offers a very competitive salary available in line with experience (Main Pay Scale Inner London - $55,000 - $89,850)

The school in question has long been known as one of the highest achieving schools in London. It is easily accessible from every corner of the city being based next to one of the most accessible stations in London; linked by five different tube lines. The current staff base, and department, are comprised of a mix of Newly Qualified and experienced Teachers. They are known as a school that promote from within so if you are beginning your career you will receive excellent induction support and training, or if you are looking for that next step, you can be safe in the knowledge that the school will similarly support you. Feedback from the staff that we have working at the school is second to none, regardless of experience and regardless of department.

It is a larger than average school with over 2000 students on the role set among one of the biggest school grounds in the city; state of the art facilities throughout all buildings. The school caters for a wide range of academic abilities and as mentioned at an all-time high of 87% A*-B.

This role will involve teaching co-educational classes of approximately 30 motivated boys and girls with a timetable heavily weighted (66%) at Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9).

Responsibilities for this Geography Teacher Role include:

*To follow the school's curriculum and assessment methodology (which are largely based on the National Curriculum)
*To assess prospective pupil applications
*To do at least one duty a week (paid additional)
*Core hours are 8:30am to 4:00pm.
*To attend staff meetings and parents' evenings as required out of school hours
*To contribute to 'house' and other whole school activities (e.g. sports day)
*Occasional internal cover of absent staff

The school adopts a policy of supportive rigour when developing students academic and extra-curricular performance. Small class sizes mean that teachers have the opportunity to pay close attention to their pupils and develop each child's skills.

The ideal candidate for this Key Stage 3 and 4 Geography Teacher role will:
*Be experienced and/or qualified to teach both subjects at Key Stage 3 and 4.
*Be empathetic to the students and contribute to the school's friendly, enthusiastic atmosphere.
*Be familiar with the national curriculum and assessment methodology
*Have a sense of warmth and having a caring outlook.
*Any other skills or subject expertise may be helpful.
