Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist setting that are looking to give graduates an opportunity to get involved with education. The school caters for children from 5-16 who have SEMH and Learning Disabilities. The role will require you to be firm but fair with students whilst providing them with the choices to help them grow as an individual. Some of the students can display challenging behaviour and any previous experience or training would be useful. The role requires an individual that is willing and patient in their approach to best build relationships with the students and in reward you will get access to CPD opportunities to grow your profile within education.

The school is located in York but also supports students from across local surrounding villages. The Purpose of the school is to offer support to students who have additional needs and SEMH the chance to access full time education. The school can receive referrals throughout the year meaning their staff team grows, along with the variety of needs the students possess.

They are looking for an individual who has;
*Experience of working with children
*Experience of SEN would be an advantage
*a background in emotional coaching and confidence building
*the desire to make a difference and patience when dealing with with challenging individuals

The school is easily accessible with good transport links and plenty of parking spaces on site. The successful individual will be required to work as part of the support team ensuring all pupils feel supported and nurtured. You will provide the individuals with the continuity, reassurance and the enthusiasm to succeed. Being a positive role model you will create boundaries and an environment to help the pupils thrive and achieve. In relation to pay this is negotiable but you can expect to be paid between £50- £70 for the day, dependant on hours worked and experience held.

*experience of working with children
*a full enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
*a 10 Year work/education history where possible and be able to explain any employment breaks
