Tradewind are working with a specialist SEND school in East Hertfordshire, part of an Academy Trust. It is a SEND Secondary School which provides education for students with a range of needs including Autism, Down's Syndrome and other conditions that result in a developmental delay. The school caters for 160 pupils, Year 7 to 11.
The school is on the look out for a new member of staff to Head the Faculty for Social and Emotional Development (PSHE, School Outdoors, Physical Education, Social Skills), working alongside the other Heads of faculty including
*English, Art, Music, Drama
*Mathematics, Computer Science, Technology
*Science, Geography, History, RE
*Community Independence, Pathways, Enrichment
The five faculties are umbrellas for a set of subjects. It is not expected that the post holders will be knowledgeable in each curriculum area within the faculty, but will be supported by subject specialists in each one.
The ideal person for this role will be a qualified teacher who will bring an engaging personality and a sense of humour to the work of the school. Experience of working within a Special School is not a pre-requisite for this position. Rather, an interest and enthusiasm for developing within this exciting, challenging and rewarding area of education is key.
Salary expectations for the Leadership position in England and Wales is L1 - L15 £39,965 - £56,434. This role will be remunerated with a TLR 2 payment of £2721 and two Leadership and Management Lessons.
The school surrounded in beautiful green land, is a 15-minute walk from a mainline train station and also has a large onsite carpark.
