Tradewind Recruitment is searching for a resilient, dedicated and resourceful Keystage 3/4 Teacher for Autism to join a specialist setting in Wandsworth where personalised learning and building relationships are paramount. The role is for the full academic year with the potential of a permanent appointment for September 2019.

This specialist school, based in Wandsworth, caters for pupils aged between two and nineteen with a range of additional needs including complex severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autism spectrum condition (ASC). Their overall aim is to provide an educational environment which celebrates the uniqueness of every child. The school promotes its ability to enable learners to thrive, through working as a multi-professional, well-structured team and they believe it is crucial to provide the best possible education and life opportunities for their pupils.

The successful Keystage 3/4 Teacher for Autism should have knowledge and/or understanding of the below;

* Picture Exchange Communication (PECS)
* TEACCH
* Team Teach - positive approaches to managing behaviour
* Makaton
* Rebound Therapy
* Intensive Interaction
* Visual and hearing impairment
* Multi-sensory approaches to learning
* Meeting the needs of pupils with complex medical conditions
* ABA
* Moving and Handling
They will also have the desire;
*to help pupils develop communication and social and emotional skills so they can enter into meaningful and fulfilling relationships with others
*to instil a sense of self-worth and self-esteem for all in their care
*to provide a range of teaching approaches which respond to how each pupil learns best
*to willingly help develop a curriculum which includes developmental, sensory and therapeutic approaches
