Year 1 teacher, Hammersmith and Fulham
- The class has children with a range of academic abilities and behaviour is good, but they work best when kept busy with interesting challenges.
- The school is seeking an experienced or Newly Qualified Year 1 teacher to join the team for the remainder of the academic year.
- Will be working closely with the Year 1 class team and planning together each week, to share ideas and resources.
- You will have a teaching assistant working with you on a full-time basis to help with general classroom duties.

The core duties of this Year 1 Primary Teacher role are:
- Carry out teaching duties to meet objectives specified in the school's schemes of work and National Curriculum
- To assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of assigned pupils as defined by school policy
- To plan and prepare courses, schemes of work and individual lessons, appropriate to the needs, interests, experience and existing knowledge of the pupils in the class.
- To work as a member of a specified team and contribute positively to effective working relationships within the school
- To build and maintain co-operative relationships with parents and to communicate with them on pupils' learning and progress, drawing attention to special skills and talents as well as to problems or difficulties.
For this Year 1 Primary Teacher role, the successful candidate will have:
- A passion for children's learning and development

- An ability to influence others
- An ability to work with the whole school community
- High aspirations for themselves and a commitment to further development
- A passion, drive and enthusiasm for leading all children within the school
- At least one year's teaching experience in the UK
- Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of teaching, learning and behaviour strategies, and have a thorough understanding of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum, with excellent subject knowledge in Numeracy and Literacy.
Location:
The school is based in Parsons Green, which is served by the district line and is only a short walk from the station.
To be considered for this Year 1 teacher role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification
- Overseas Trained Teachers will be considered if you have a comparable qualification with a UK teaching qualification and you can comply with the other points
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK
