This is a secondary school for pupils aged 11-19 catering for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning difficulties (PMLD).

With around 70 pupils on the roll, all classes are made up of small groups with the average class size being eight pupils. Each class has one teacher and an average of 4 experienced Teaching Assistants, depending on class size. The high ratio of staff to students ensures that all students receive individualised support. Staff work hard to build positive relationships with each student, fostering a supportive and safe learning environment.

There is a large multidisciplinary team on-site who work alongside the teaching team to create educational and support plans for each student. This team includes Creative Therapists, Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist and an educational psychologist.

The school takes pride in having an excellent ICT provision with all pupils having access to tablets and touch screen PCs. Computer literacy would be an advantage in this role as you would regularly support pupils to develop communication skills using technology.

The LSA would:
*Support students 1:1 and in small groups for the duration of the lesson
*Provide personal cares as needed
*Use initiative and be proactive within the classroom
*Prepare resources and liaise with the teacher and multidisciplinary team
*Be aware of students EHCPs and individual learning needs
*Differentiate resources to support SEN students to achieve lesson objectives
*Work alongside experienced and specialist staff in a high performing team
