Learning Support Assistant

Tradewind is currently seeking an experienced learning support assistant to work with a pupil who has additional needs in Key Stage 1. The pupil is on the autistic spectrum and displays challenging behaviour throughout the School day. You will need to be able to support the pupil access the curriculum and work in KS1 on a 1:1 basis for the full academic year.

This fantastic School was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in 2020. The School has two classes per year and two sencos which enables them to support all new members of staff who join their team. The School is based in Leighton Buzzard, so ideally you will drive or live locally.

***Working 1:1 with a pupil in KS1 on the autistic spectrum/SEMH difficulties/additional needs

What we are looking for:

• Min 6 months experience in a mainstream or SEN School
• ASC, SEMH and SEN knowledge/experience
• Degree qualified or relevant qualifications to the education sector
• Can work on your own with pupils and support other team members.
• Effective communicator.
• Strong academic background and knowledge of the national curriculum.
• Competed Pecs/Makaton courses (Highly Desirable).
• Able to effectively support pupils access the curriculum.
• DBS on the update service or willing to complete asap.
• Available on a full-time basis from September.
