About the School - Maths NQT - Tower Hamlets, East London
Starting in September this large community school that was funded in the Victoria era is looking to appoint a teacher of Maths. The school is in Tower Hamlets, East London and is within walking distance of London Liverpool Street train station. The school has 1100 students on role and surpasses national average results at both KS4 and 5. They are looking to appoint on a permanent basis and the role is open to bot experienced and newly qualified teachers. This school has been through a whole range of changes in the 80 years since it was first opened and today finds itself in a very exciting position. Recently graded as a 'Good' Ofsted school there is huge potential for the school to improve further and becoming one of London's best inner-city schools. This school does face some challenges in that EAL and free school meal numbers are well above national averages which means that teaching must be of the highest quality to bridge the gap. The school uses a very strict behavioural policy which allows teachers the most time to teach and gives a calm atmosphere to the school.
