The right person will need to either have a interest in Mechanics or Engineering or have a certificate in Mechanics or Engineering.

This opportunity is working 1:1 with a young pupil who has just come out of youth offenders. You will need to build a good relationship with the pupil to ensure that he gets the best out of life. The student is looking for patient and supportive staff member who is persistent to support him learn and excel. The student loves routine as much as flexible learning time and enjoys spending time in his classes as well as working in small intervention groups whilst learning the core subjects of English, Maths and Science. The right person will need to show confidence and understanding that they are ready to build on a friendship with the student within the classroom and support them with their learning.

The current staff are fantastic and very engaging with the pupils and other staff members, the class teachers are full of ideas and will help the right person settle in well to the classroom. The student will be studying his core subjects and has a keen interest in Mechanics which you will need to support him in.

The Mentor would:
*Help all students enjoy their learning and get as much out of life as they can
*Improve countless young lives
*Identify challenges and ensure that the pupils learn
*Support pupils with communication skills in a classroom
*Help pupils develop their communication and life skills in a classroom

Salary and benefits
*Starting annual salary (before tax) - £15,600 (pro rota £18,560)
*Chance to increase to £17,550 after a period
*Work from 8.30am to 3.30pm (occasional 1 day till 3.55pm for meeting)
*Have the chance to become a teacher at the school


The Mentor we require should have:
*Experience working with pupils with special educational needs
*Team Teach Training is desired
*Experience in using behaviour techniques within a classroom
*Knowledge of teaching range Ks3 and Ks4.
*Must be Caring, Adaptable and highly intuitive
