Music Teacher - Guernsey
Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a strong Music Teacher looking for a 1 year temporary contract on the island of Guernsey?
We are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic teacher of Music to work in a lovely Grammar school with outstanding facilities on the island of Guernsey. This position is from April 2021 to April 2022. You will be required to teach up to A level.
The school is ambitious and believe that they should all aim for excellence in everything they do. They want all members of the community to be happy and to have pride in themselves and the school. They are passionate about ensuring that every child reaches their full academic potential during their time with them, through engaging and varied learning experiences. They also want their pupils to develop the skills required to lead successful and happy lives in both their personal and working lives. In order to achieve this, they will work hard to ensure that they know every member of the school community as an individual; understanding personal strengths, talents and interests as well as providing support for those areas needing further development and guidance.
The successful candidate will be/have:
* Able to commit to 1 year on the island of Guernsey, and have no commitments in the UK that may prevent them from staying on the island from April 21 - April 22 (term time).
* The ability to work alone, and plan, prepare and deliver exciting and innovating lessons.
* The ability to differentiate as there is a vast range of abilities within the school.
* Strong classroom management, and able to manage any challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
* Comfortable with their own company, or enjoy making friends with the locals and other supply teachers on the island!
* Happy to work on a small island that has around only 63,000 people, a limited amount of shops and restaurants, and with inflated prices (the cost of living is higher than the UK).
