The Music team is a creative and dynamic department consisting of three teachers and two technicians. High expectations are set within the department for both students and teachers alike. We strive to ensure that we deliver an imaginative, up to date and relevant curriculum. Consequently, the department has an outstanding track record for academic success at all key stages.
Based in Bromley this school is very easily accessible due to its close proximity to nearby transport, including rail, and bus. The school also has a large onsite staff car park which is free to use for all staff. This school is a large, oversubscribed school which has been extremely successful in previous years, the Music department is extremely friendly and welcoming, ideally they are looking for an additional teacher who can teach in piano and singing. You must have Qualified Teacher Status and either be an experienced teacher with solid work history in permanent roles, or be a newly qualified teacher looking for a supportive and friendly school to join for your induction year.
Responsibilities for this Key Stage 3 and 4 Music Teacher Role include:
This role will involve teaching small, co-educational classes of around 25 motivated boys and girls with an almost 50/50 timetable split across both Key Stages.
*To follow the school's curriculum and assessment methodology (which are largely based on the National Curriculum)
*To assess prospective pupil applications
*To do at least one duty a week (paid additional)
*To attend staff meetings and parents' evenings as required out of school hours
*To contribute to 'house' and other whole school activities (e.g. sports day)
*Occasional internal cover of absent staff
The school adopts a policy of supportive rigour when developing the student's academic and extra-curricular performance. Small class sizes mean that teachers have the opportunity to pay close attention to their pupils and develop each child.
The ideal candidate for this Key Stage 3 and 4 Music Teacher role will:
*be experienced and/or qualified to teach the subject successfully at Key Stage 3 and 4
*be empathetic to the students and contribute to the school's friendly, enthusiastic atmosphere.
*be familiar with the national curriculum and assessment methodology
*A sense of warmth and having a caring outlook.
*Any other skills or subject expertise may be helpful.

*Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification
