*This school is based in Redbridge, East London and is easily accessible on the central line, about 10 minutes from Stratford Station. Some of the staff travel on the central line, jubilee line, DLR, TFL Rail and London Overground from all parts of London and have no issues with getting into the school easily. However, the school have an accessible car park for staff, so could be easily commutable for drivers.
*The Head Teacher and leadership team have high expectations and have brought about rapid and sustainable improvement over the last few years. *The department is very well-equipped with imacs running Sibelius and Logic in each of the 3 classrooms, as well as 9 practice rooms and a wide range of western instruments and recording equipment
*The school closely work with Redbridge community service who provide instrumental and vocal tuition to many of the school's students in and outside the school
*The department provide a lot of extracurricular activities that take place weekly, including several choirs, a wind band, jazz band, steel pan group, brass group, orchestra and string orchestra
*The department has a very inclusive and developmental approach to teaching music and constantly seeks to improve and refine what they offer to students across the school
*At KS3 the department focuses on developing students' singing, instrumental, music leadership, composing, listening, and appraising skills through the curriculum
