The AEP we work with cater for Secondary aged pupils and require an outreach worker with Mental Health background to work as a Learning support to enable learning of their pupils mostly outside the classroom. The ability to engage and build rapport with the pupils, using your understanding of Mental Health and challenging behaviour is essential. Ideal candidate will have a person-centred approach, and will be a dynamic, forward thinking and pro-active team player, with passion and commitment to holistically supporting vulnerable students in developing their independence and vocational skills.

In this outreach worker role, your primary areas of responsibility will be to:
Support and enable learning of the pupil by working with them in the local library, leisure centre and occasionally from the AEP's classrooms (Based in Bath and Kingswood).
Encourage the development of positive attitudes.
Have a creative and innovative approach to understand and supporting to re-engage disaffected learners in education and overcome barriers to learning.
Monitor students learning, social, emotional and behavioural progress against targets and report to the teachers of any changes.
Be aware of Safeguarding and Behaviour policies of the settings you work in and adhere to the policies at all times.

To join us and be successful in this role, you will need to:
* Have your own vehicle and be willing to drive with the pupils in your car and be willing obtain business insurance.
*Have Special Educational Needs (SEN) knowledge and experience working with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH);
*A strong desire to have an impact on the lives of vulnerable young people
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
*Have a CV covering at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
