Tradewind Preston is currently looking for an experienced, results driven and hardworking Year 5 teacher for a 1-form entry school in Wigan. This position is due to start in September; however, they do have the capacity to take someone on sooner if possible. This is a full-time, with the potential of turning into a permanent role. The school is open to NQT's and experienced teachers alike.

*Hold QTS Status
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks

This Wigan school is an 'Good' school having had an Ofsted inspection in March 2018. The school sits at the heart of the community and the children come from a low social-economic demographic. Many of the children suffer from Social, Emotional and Behavioural problems and as such the school offer more than just an education. The school currently has 245 children and includes a nursery offering free part time places.

They put a high value of the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural aspects of education as well as the academic side. As a result, they offer a lot of alternative provision and encourage children to lean through music, sport, adventure and offer several residential trips.

This is a challenging role and requires someone with the determination and will to succeed. It isn't a job for 'any' teacher, more a job for 'the' teacher and is the job many would have got into teaching for in the first place! The children have had a tumultuous year with very little consistency or continuity from a teaching perspective. As such, a lot of the children are not at an expected level and they will need a lot of pushing to get to the required level. An energetic teacher with a creative and engaging outlook on the curriculum would be well suited to ensure the children remain engaged and active throughout the year.
There will be plenty of support from the SLT and you will have 3 TA's in the class working with a variety of children on a 1-1 basis. This position is open to NQT's and experienced teachers alike.
