Tradewind are currently recruiting for an outstanding PRU teacher for a very popular school in SW London. The role is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for teaching SEN pupils. The post is to start September working until the end of the year, with the potential for it to continue into a permanent role.
This position is best suited to teachers who have experience working with Social and Emotional Needs (SEMH). All students in the class will have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). As a PRU teacher, you should be able to adapt your lessons and subject material to suit each student's ability.
The PRU Teacher would:
*Work with a class of 6 pupils
*Teach pupils with social and emotional needs (SEMH)
*Be supported by a full-time teaching assistant in class
*Use proactive de-escalation techniques and follow individual therapy plans
*Teach 30-minute lessons, these may be subject specific or across all subjects depending on the year group and ability of the class
*Be responsible for ensuring all students achieve their highest potential
*Tailor the learning environment and subject material to suit individual needs
The ideal candidate for this PRU Teacher role will:
*Hold Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
*Be a qualified teacher, comfortable teaching both at functional skills and foundation level.
*Be experienced in, or comfortable working in an environment with students aged 11 - 16 with a variety of special needs, who present challenging behaviour.
The school in SW London are looking for a compassionate, keen and caring individual to join the team to support 7 pupils with social and emotional difficulties. Your day as a Teacher will depend entirely on how you support the children and work with a lovely team of support staff. There really are no limits to the interests, passions, hobbies and activities that the students we support enjoy. It is key for this role that you are positive and enjoy having a laugh. The pupils you will be supporting are an active bunch and enjoy various leisure and activities in the community - including swimming, for example. Please ensure you can commit to this role, as reliability for the students you will be supporting is a key factor. They require stability and need support in accessing activities to allow them to achieve their full potential.
