Tradewind are working with an excellent school in Hull, who are looking for an outstanding RE teacher, who can join their extremely successful department, on a part basis, starting in January 2021. This is to cover a planned period of absence, and the initial end date is February half term 2021, with potential for this to be increased in the future. In terms of payment, this will be scaled to the Main Teaching Pay Scale (up to MPS6), as you will be expected to complete all planning and marking in line with the national curriculum, and teaching duties. This is a 0.6 timetable, covering 3 full days.

You will be working in a truly excellent school, that is entirely focused on ensuring that the students educational, and personal needs are catered for. Being the very centre of the community, you will be working with a close knit team, who are extremely supportive of all staff members. Having worked with this school for a number of years, I can truly say that it is an outstanding place to work, with a wonderful Humanities department. This a comprehensive 11-16 school, so experience teaching A level students is not essential for this position. You will have GCSE classes on your timetable, so we are looking for a true RE specialist who has experience teaching the new GCSE specification. Ideally, we are looking for a practitioner who has experience working towards the AQA specification, but this is by no means essential for this role.

In terms of your teaching timetable, you will predominantly be teaching Key Stage 3 RE, but there will be at least one Year 10 class on the timetable. As there is not quite a full teaching timetable on offer, there will be room on the timetable for one other humanities subject (either Geography or History), and you will be expected to teach this humanities subject to Key Stage 3. There is a strong preference for this to be History, just due to current timetabling, but there is still room for this to be Geography. Having worked with the school for a number of years, I can say first hand how enjoyable a place to work it is, and how much people enjoy working there. This is a school that is continually improving, and is making strides towards outstanding.
The role:
*Teaching Key Stage 3 RE
*Teaching Key Stage 4 RE
*Teaching one other Humanities subject to Key Stage 3 (Geography or History)
*Planning and marking in line with the national curriculum

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with truly excellent students and staff members, and make a difference with willing and enthusiastic learners. We are looking for a teacher with effective subject knowledge, and an eagerness to provide an excellent quality of education. You will be working with an excellent head of department who is willing to work hard to help develop staff members. For this reason, we would welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers for this position.

Essential requirements:
A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
An up to date CV with a 10 year career history
Legal Right to Work in the UK
