The School…
Our client is a large mixed comprehensive school currently educating children aged from 11 to 18. With approximately 300 of their 1800 students in the sixth form.

They were last inspected by OFSTED IN 2017 and rated as 'Outstanding' in all areas.
The school is a great place to work. The community is vibrant, focused on teaching, learning and caring for students. The community of staff is very strong, supportive and welcoming.
Students like the school and like to learn - they are almost always keen and co-operative and value staff and the school. The school has something for everyone and huge opportunities for adults, as well as students, to learn and grow.

Pass rates at this academically focused and high achieving school are 100% at A-level so all candidates will be qualified to teach a level with the confidence and ability to do so at an outstanding level. NQTs are welcome to apply and interviews will commence next week so please apply as soon as possible.

Pay rates will be competitive but will vary depending on your experience and suitability for the role. TLR will also be available in some cases.

The Religious Education department…

Our client has a thriving and enthusiastic RE Department. You will be working in a very supportive team of experienced teachers who are dedicated to the academic and spiritual learning and development of each student. The Religious Education Department plays a special part in leading and promoting the overall ethos of the school and aims to be at the forefront of its success.

As a core subject, all students are taught RE throughout the school with all students sitting GCSE in Year 11. Pupils at Key Stage 3 study Christianity as well as aspects of other major world faiths. In addition to core R.E, students are taught in their Denominational groups where they explore their beliefs, traditions and experiences, which contribute to a Christian view of the world. Teachers inspire all students to achieve their full potential and place great emphasis on securing students' success at GCSE.
Many students choose to go on and study Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics at A Level and continue with this subject at further education or serve in Christian community projects in a gap year project. The RE team are a strong and collaborative unit comprised of 5 full-time subject specialist teachers.

Applications are welcome from motivated, enthusiastic teachers, passionate about Religious Education and dedicated to raising standards of students' learning. It is important that you are supportive in their ecumenical approach and ethos which permeates through both the department and school. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers and from NQTs who would benefit from a comprehensive induction year programme.
