Tradewind Manchester are recruiting to increase their pool of Readers and Scribes. Are you looking for some seasonal, part-time or full-time work, during the months of February, May and June, working in a secondary school in Tameside?

Tradewind Manchester are looking for Readers and Scribes to support GCSE students through their exams, for a secondary school located in Tameside. The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with students, providing reading assistance or writing on behalf of the students, whilst ensuring that they follow the rules set out by the Joint Council for Qualifications. All training will be provided, free of charge, by Tradewind, and although prior examination experience is desirable, it is not compulsory.

We are recruiting on behalf of a large and wholly inclusive academy, which caters for students from 11 -16 years old. The school has recently become part of a wider academy trust, working with three secondary schools in the local area. They pride themselves on an induction programme leading to excellent professional development opportunities and are fully committed to the progress of their staff, as well as their students.

This secondary academy is looking for Readers and Scribes who can provide support during GCSE exams and mock GCSE exams during the months of February, May and June. They require a candidate that can commit to our online 1-hour training programme and then be available for periodic work to support in the exams. You will need to be able to follow direction well as you will be given specific tasks to complete by the school's exams officer.

Readers and Scribes need to be vigilant and ensure that:
-The correct exam procedures are followed
-Students are fully supported with reading the exam
-They are patient and listen to the student's dictation carefully, whilst scribing for them
-Students are not talking or conferring
-Students are not cheating
-Students have enough paper and stationery
-They assist students if they need to leave the exam due to illness
-They are responsible in starting and finishing the exams
-They collect and distribute the exam papers correctly

The school is based in Tameside, and it is accessible by car or public transport. The school provides ample free parking.
