The Science department aims to engage and inspire students with thought provoking questions, practical demonstrations and group work in order for them to succeed as the scientists of the future.
From finding out how a light bulb works, to debating whether or not genetic cloning could be the future; students will develop a greater understanding on their quest to understand the world we live in.
From medical research to mechanical engineering; succeeding in science opens doors to a vast array of careers; allowing students to meet challenges and solve problems we may not even know exist.
We expect all students to make positive measurable progress in science in order to achieve their full potential. This means that they must have a "can do" mentality to face any scientific challenge that they are presented with.

There will be the chance to join science clubs as well as take part in national competitions for young scientists.

Some areas of science naturally flow out of the classroom and students will get the opportunity to visit a range of key venues including the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum to further advance their learning.
