Tradewind Recruitment have been asked by an 11 to 18 secondary school in North Essex to assist them in finding a qualified Science Teacher to join their hard-working team of staff. Specialists in all disciplines can be considered, though the timetable is mostly made up of teaching Chemistry and Physics to KS3 and KS4 students. The requirement is until the end of the academic year at least on a long-term supply basis. If lockdown continues, the successful Science teacher will be expected to teach remotely.
Under the new Ofsted framework the school was graded as 'Good' in the vast majority of areas. Pupils are well mannered, respectful and enjoy learning. They want to achieve and are focused in lessons. The Headteacher is driven and supportive and recognises necessary areas for improvement which are supported by parents, staff and students.
The ideal Science teacher will be:
Able to teach two disciplines (Physics, Chemistry or Biology) to KS4 with excellent subject knowledge.
An effective classroom leader who can communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
A collaborative and driven individual who will lead through creative approaches.
Up to date knowledge of the Science curriculum, ideally with a proven track record of results at GCSE.
Willing to contribute to the school's wider community though extra-curricular activities.
A committed and reliable educator, who will want to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning throughout their role.
Located in stunning North Essex countryside, the school is easily accessible from parts of Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. Plenty of onsite parking is available for staff and students. With experienced teachers within the Science department, the successful teacher could specialise in either Chemistry, Biology or Physics (although Chemistry and Physics would be advantageous). NQT's are also welcome to apply and will be offered fantastic support.
