Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking to appoint a Science teacher who has excellent subject knowledge, new ideas, enthusiasm and a desire to be an outstanding practitioner. With subject specialism in either Biology, Physics or Chemistry, you will join a dynamic, innovative and successful Science faculty which achieves excellent outcomes.

This client is a good school with outstanding Leadership. GCSE Science exam results are above average with many students choosing to study Science at Year 12 and beyond. Central to all of their work is the determination to ensure that all pupils, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, succeed academically (OFSTED Dec 2017).

A Teacher Leadership Responsibilities (TLR) allowance is available for a suitable candidate.

Job description
*Teach Science to Key stage 3 and GCSE (Years 7-11)
*To be responsible through effective teaching and consistent adherence to the school's aims and policies for assisting pupils to learn effectively, develop personally and achieve their individual potential
*To implement, provide and engage pupils in an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum
*To contribute to the school's provision of extra-curricular activities
*To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as a teacher/form tutor
*To contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment and to ensuring that within the context of the school that value is added

Experience
*Successful teaching at secondary level, with a commitment to high quality teaching and willingness to share good practice
*Evidence of appropriate professional development

Skills and Abilities
*Excellent organisational skills and classroom management
*Ability to plan and teach lessons effectively, so that they are interesting, challenging and enjoyable.
*Ability to collaborate productively with colleagues and work towards common goals as a team member
*Knowledge of current issues in the teaching of specialist subject
*Strong subject knowledge
*Awareness of whole school curriculum issues
*Ability to manage students firmly, fairly and effectively.
