Tradewind Recruitment are looking for an experienced Teacher of Science who would be looking for a role with responsibility. This is a good school based Lambeth. They are currently recruiting for a Science teacher who would be possible looking to take on extra responsibilities for a perm role to start in September 2019.

Science is an experimental and investigative subject that is the foundation to many careers. All pupils study Biology, Chemistry and Physics with the aim of making pupils scientifically literate, able to communicate in society about scientific developments and enthused about the sciences in general.

This client has high expectations of all students and they have a very clear behaviour management system across the school to allow our staff to concentrate on what they do best: teaching. This Academy was judged as 'good' by Ofsted in 2017, and now striving to be outstanding in every category.

The person

They are looking for a Science Teacher to start in September who is experienced teaching a both Key Stage 3 & 4. At Key stage 3 pupils follow a mixed programme of Biology, Chemistry and Physics with an emphasis on investigative and experimental work. At Key Stage 4 most pupils follow a mixed programme of all three sciences leading to separate GCSEs in Year 10 (AQA Core Science) and in Year 11 (AQA Additional Science). Students with a higher aptitude for Science are selected to take a triple Science course which leads to three separate science GCSEs (pupils take "Further Additional Science" in year 11). A few pupils in Year 10 follow a BTEC Applied Science course which results in a BTEC Level 2 qualification equivalent to a GCSE. This is assessed primarily through completion of coursework in class. In year 11, most pupils follow a mixed programme of all three sciences leading to separate GCSEs in Year 10 (AQA Core Science) and in Year 11 (AQA Additional Science). Students with a higher aptitude for Science are selected to take a triple Science course which leads to three separate science GCSEs (pupils take "Further Additional Science" in year 11). A number of pupils in Year 11 follow a BTEC Applied Science course which results in a BTEC Level 2 qualification equivalent to a GCSE. This is assessed solely through completion of coursework in class.
