Science Technician

Tradewind Recruitment are working closely with a Secondary School located in the heart of Lambeth with their Science Technician vacancy.

Our client is looking to appoint a technician who comes with a minimum of 6 months UK lab experience or a graduate with a high-level Science Related Degree.

This position is a full-time role (Monday to Friday) - 7 hours per day with an immediate start until Easter for first instance, with a strong possibility of it being extended until the end of the academic year

The successful candidate will:

*Have some experience of working in the Science industry (chemistry or Biology) or having worked in a scientific environment, ideally within a school
*Be a recent Science Graduate ideally with a chemistry specialism who's eager to get into a lab
*Be able to work as part of a team and use initiative with proven record of practical science skills,
*Must be able to work collaboratively with other members of the technician team as well as the HOD Science.
*Have a good understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations) and enforce the rules when necessary

The school has recently been renovated and currently have approximately 4 labs within the school, which makes it an ideal learning environment for the students. The students are well behaved, and the school always tends to perform very well on their yearend exams. Its grounds are very beautiful and confident that the appointed applicant will enjoy their time at this wonderful educational institution.

*Have or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference check.
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
*BSC in any of the 3 sciences
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
