Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a pro-active and engaging Science Technician, to join a good and successful school in Manchester, to start as soon as possible. This is a part time, long term role, paying between £60 - £70 a day (FTE) and pro-rated. The successful candidate will be expected to work 5 days, from 8:30am to 12:00pm, completing 17.5 hours per week.
We are recruiting on behalf of a large secondary academy, which caters for students from 11 -16 years old. The school is a 'Good' educational provider and is providing excellent outcomes for students in the local area. The school is a vibrant, diverse and innovative academy, promoting self-belief and drive in its students, aiming to produce confident individuals through learning in a safe and happy environment.
This OFSTED 'Good' secondary academy is looking for a Science Technician that can take initiative and support the Science Department and students daily. You must be a committed and organised individual, who will want to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning throughout the role. You will need to be a collaborative and driven individual who will support the preparation and delivery of Science.
The role itself will involve supporting the Science Department in the preparation of practical lessons, as well as maintaining an organised and safe learning environment for the students. You will be responsible for handling dangerous equipment and chemicals, as well as monitoring the Science stock. You will also be required to support students during practical lessons and ensure their safety always.
The school is based in South Manchester, with excellent public transport links and ample parking available.

*Have experience working in a Science Laboratory
*Have the relevant and necessary safety certificates to work in a laboratory

*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
