We have supported staff from all over London to work here, they continue to travel to Ealing as they feel the school, the environment and the support they receive here are worth it. Working within the newly built space, the role will be on Monday and Friday, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role in September for the right person.

The role would be working with a wide range of pupils who are identified as needing extra support. The school are looking for someone with SEMH and EAL experience who can create a nurturing learning environment and liaise with the off-site Multi-Disciplinary team to support students back into the mainstream setting as smoothly and quickly as possible. The students in your classes may change often as students go between the mainstream and inclusion setting depending on their need/situation. The role requires someone who is adaptable and good at building rapport and positive relationships quickly.

The class sizes would be around 3-4 pupils with SEMH vulnerabilities (children in care or with difficulties in their home environment etc) or 10 pupils needing EAL support. Challenging behaviours are not common at the school, but within SEMH, and exclusion settings, strong behaviour management skills will be essential. Subject specialists from the mainstream site come to the centre to teach and as an inclusion teacher, you would work 1:1 and in small groups to support their learning needs. There are 5-6 graduate LSA's also supporting pupils in the provision.

A passion for supporting pupils to overcome obstacles and engage in school life is essential to work in this very inclusive setting. This school places a heavy emphasis on including students in all activities from Outdoor Education to School Drama shows and out of school trips. Being creative and taking a proactive approach to adapt lessons for inclusion students will ensure you make a positive impact. The right person for the job will be highly motivated to learn and grow, as this school invests regularly in upskilling and training staff.

The schools hiring process involves a full trial day with a lesson observation. The school will provide a lesson plan or a skeleton plan for you to build on. The aspect of your teaching that they will want to see most is how you engage and manage the class. The school are looking for teachers who are caring, have a strong classroom presence and interact well with pupils in the class.
