Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist setting for 5-16 year olds with social, emotional and mental health needs. The school is situated in York and is a welcoming and vibrant place to work. The school require someone who is committed to working with vulnerable young people, working as part of enthusiastic team wanting to make a difference to their students lives.

The school is located within York and support students from across York and surrounding villages. The Purpose of the school is to offer SEMH support and the chance to access education regardless of their levels. A lot of support is tailored to each individual and done on a 1:1 basis but class sizes are no bigger than 6 students. Referrals can be received from the Youth Justice Service, Local Authority along with direct from the local Schools.

They are looking for an individual who has;
*a background of working with hard to reach pupils with SEMH
*experience of working in a challenging setting
*experience in building rapport with children from all walks of life
*someone who can offer a consistency and be reliable for the students
*graduates looking for experience in this sector are welcome to apply

The school is easily accessible with good transport links. The successful individual will be required to work as part of the support team ensuring all pupils achieve both academically while feeling supported and nurtured. You will provide the individuals with continuity, reassurance and the enthusiasm to succeed. Being a positive role model you will create boundaries and an environment to help the pupils thrive, achieve and be accounted for. In relation to pay this is negotiable but you can expect to be paid between £50-£70 for the day, dependant on hours and experience held.

*Experience of dealing with Challenging behaviour
*Recent experience of working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds
*10 Year work/education history where applicable and be able to explain any employment breaks
