Tradewind is currently recruiting for an experienced SEN LSA for a Mixed Community secondary school located in the heart of Richmond (Hampton Wick) .
The school works hard to make any staff, temporary or permanent, feel welcome and part of the family. This secondary school prides itself on being a fully inclusive, happy and vibrant place to learn. They firmly believe that students achieve best when they feel the genuine security of a community that supports learning and promotes social responsibility.
We are looking for:
*An eager SEN expert who's looking to being making a positive impact with students.
*Ideally someone with experience in PECS & Makaton
*Someone who will follow direction well as they will be given tasks and targets from the SENCO.
*Ideally someone with a university degree but it's no required
*Comfortable working with all levels of SEN
Candidates will be expected to:
*Supervise students in the classroom
*Work with the SENCO to identify students that are struggling and create strategies to help raise their attainment
*Complete tasks given to you by teachers and your line manager
*Homework club twice a week
*To have strong classroom management
*Be comfortable working with students with special educational needs
*Is flexible to take on tasks that are not necessarily attributed to being a Teaching Assistant
*Who is punctual
*Is open to Teaching student in small group settings or "focus groups"
The school is located within a 18 minute bus ride from Hampton Wick station - with various busses that drop you near the school.
The school has recently been renovated which makes it an ideal learning environment for the students. The students can be challenging at times but the staff is very supportive and has strong behaviour management strategies in place. Its grounds are very beautiful and I'm sure you'll enjoy your time at this wonderful educational institution.
