Tradewind are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN PE Teacher for a nationally acknowledged SEN School in Wandsworth. The role is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for teaching PE to SEN pupils. The post is to start ASAP working until the end of the academic year, with the potential for it to continue into the new academic year.
This position is best suited to teachers who have experience working with students who have Sensory and Physical Needs. As a SEN teacher, you should be able to adapt your lessons and subject material to suit each student's ability.
The SEN Teacher would:
*Work with a small class of pupils
*Teach pupils with Physical & Sensory needs
*Be supported by a full-time teaching assistant in class
*Use proactive de-escalation techniques and follow individual therapy plans
*Be responsible for ensuring all students achieve their highest potential
*Tailor the learning environment and subject material to suit individual needs
The ideal candidate for this SEN Teacher role will:
*Hold Qualified Teacher Status
*Be a qualified PE teacher with SEN experience
*Be experienced in, or comfortable working in an environment with students aged 11-16, with a variety of special needs, who present challenging behaviour.
The school is in Wandsworth, South West London and has good transport links. It is one of the largest schools in the borough situated within large open grounds. The school is recognised as one of only 48 National Support Schools and boasts a specialist Sensory and Physical College reputation.
