Keen to make a difference in the lives of students with SEN needs? This is a role for people with heart, who take an inclusive and valuing approach to SEN teaching.

I'm working with an OFSTED rated Outstanding School who are looking for a PPA/Cover Teacher to start ASAP. At present, the role is a full-time position but arrangements may be made to accommodate part time teachers. You will be covering 3 different classes, all ranging in needs and abilities. All lesson planning, schemes of work and resources are already in place. The school is looking for SEN Teachers with a strong ability for pupil engagement and the ability to teach their lesson plans successfully.

The school supports pupils aged 11-19 years old with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning difficulties (PMLD). Although this is a Secondary School, applications from Primary and Secondary Teachers are welcomed. Teaching at the school follows a semi-formal curriculum with most students working within P Levels 1-8. Most class teachers will be planning lessons according to EYF and Primary foundations of learning.

To teach in this school, a genuine understanding of severe and profound learning difficulties is essential. The school are looking for exceptional teachers, keen to fully immerse themselves in the daily running of a special school. As a very specialised school with a huge focus on individualised support, there are only 70 pupils on the roll. Each class contains a maximum of eight or nine students. Student to staff ratios are very high, with one class teacher and about 4 experienced Teaching Assistants in each room. Personal cares are required to be performed by all staff and it's essential that you are confident and comfortable to do this with a level of sensitivity to maintain the dignity of the students you are supporting.

You will have the support of an incredible multidisciplinary who partner regularly with teaching team to create educational and support plans for each student. This team includes Creative Therapists, Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist and an educational psychologist.

The Teacher would:
*Work across 3 different classes providing teaching cover
*Have strong differentiation skills to be able to meet individual learners needs
*Teach Literacy, Numeracy and SMSC topics
*Be confident using a range of visual and non-verbal strategies to support communication
*Have a strong understanding of EHCPs and each students' needs
*Support and manage 2-3 classroom Teaching Assistants
*Collaborate regularly with the multi-disciplinary therapy team
*Be experienced with PMLD and SLD, ideally within an SEN School setting

*Been OFSTED rated GOOD
*Around 70 pupils aged 11-19 years old
*Purpose built spaces for students with Autism and multisensory needs
*An excellent ICT provision with touch computers and access to tablets for most pupils
*Hydrotherapy pool and hoist
*An extremely well-staffed SEN provision with Creative Therapists, Occupational Therapists, an educational psychologist and a physiotherapist.
