Whether you have been working in a mainstream setting or special school, we are keen to talk to you about September opportunities in this thriving and innovative SEN school Hillingdon.

Working with students aged 11-19, this is a secondary school catering for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning difficulties (PMLD). Both Primary and Secondary Teachers are encouraged to apply as many classes follow a semi-formal or P Scale targeted curriculum oriented towards EYF and Primary foundations of learning.

With around 70 pupils on the roll, all classes are made up of small groups with the average class size being eight pupils. Each class has one teacher and around 4 experienced Teaching Assistants, depending on class size. The high ratio of staff to students ensures that all students receive individualised support. Staff work hard to build positive relationships with each student, fostering a supportive and safe learning environment.

There is a large multidisciplinary team on-site who work alongside the teaching team to create educational and support plans for each student. This team includes Creative Therapists, Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist and an educational psychologist.

The school takes pride in having an excellent ICT provision with all pupils having access to tablets and touch screen PCs. Computer literacy would be an advantage in this role as you would regularly support pupils to develop communication skills using technology.

Part of a large multi-academy trust with several special schools, staff regularly have opportunities to train and develop skills further. The trust prides itself on hiring enthusiastic staff who are flexing and willing to become fully involved in the life of a special school. If this sounds like you, please don't hesitate to apply now.
