An outstanding Secondary school for pupils with Autism and Complex Learning Difficulties in Newham, initially with 60 pupils, but growing to a maximum of 90 pupils aged 5-19 are now looking for a Special Needs Teacher to join them within their Secondary Department.

The school are looking for a compassionate, keen and caring individual to join the team to support 6 pupils with autism and complex learning difficulties. Your day as a Special Needs Teacher will depend entirely on how you support the children and work with a lovely team of support staff. There really are no limits to the interests, passions, hobbies and activities that the students we support enjoy.

As a Special Needs Teacher, flexibility is essential to both yourself and for the pupils in the class as you may be required to think on your feet and use your initiative. It is also key for this role that you are positive and someone who enjoys having a laugh. The pupils that you will be supporting will be an active bunch and enjoy a various leisure activity within the community, including swimming and shopping. It is also essential that you can commit to this role.

The Teacher would:
*Work with pupils who have autism and complex learning difficulties
*Helping all students enjoy their learning and get as much out of life as they can
*Identify challenges and ensure that the pupils learn
*Support pupils with communication skills
*Help pupils develop their communication and life skills

*Hold QTS status, QTLS status or equivalent overseas teaching qualification
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
