Tradewind recruitment is currently looking for a confident, engaging Special Needs Teacher with Autism experience. The role is an exciting opportunity that involves working at a small special needs setting near Yate and they require a teacher with significant amount of Autism experience to teach a small group of students that involve non-verbal students ranging of different ages in KS3 all in one class.

The school tends to provide small, specialist learning environment that meets the student's learning needs as well as providing them with emotional support through specialised support techniques and alternative curriculum suitable for the ASC condition. There are 5 students in the classroom, including a pre-verbal pupil who is being supported by a 1:1 LSA in a separate part within the classroom.

Working hours are between 0815-1530 Monday to Friday and it will involve working with pupils who display emotional behavioural difficulties that are a result of the condition. The role is starting asap and will be continuing ongoing for the rest of the academic year.
The school is open to consider teachers with Primary or Secondary Teaching qualifications and will consider them on the basis of their experience with Autism and the ability to manage behavioural challenges.

The school is within easy reach of Motorways such as M4, M5, M48 and there is ample on-site parking available. The school is within short distance from Yate and can be reached within 30 Minutes (11 Miles)

To join us and be successful in this exciting Teaching assistant position, you will need to:
*Have significant amounts of Autism experience in a school or care setting and ideally be able to engage with a young person on the ASC with emotional and behavioural outbursts
** You will need your own car to be able to get to the school as the public transport links to the school site is limited.
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
*Have a CV covering at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
